The recent recovery of the grey wolf in the Great Lakes region is an example of a highly successful federal conservation program.  However, wolves are nearly absent from most other parts of the nation, other than a few small habitats in the Montana, Wyoming, Idaho and the Southwest.  Although wolves in the Northeast and West were removed from the Endangered Species List by the Bush Administration in 2004, most conservationists still consider these regional species to be endangered.  Learn more about wolves here, here and here!
