Supplement Tips

Store them properly. Keep your vitamins with your spices, cool, dark and dry. Unopened containers do well in the refrigerator, but opened containers should be kept out of moisture and condensation - not in the bathroom or the fridge.

View it as insurance, doesn’t hurt and might help. Most of us get most of the nutrients we need. But to get peace of mind, some supplements might be a good idea. However a varied balanced diet is the best foundation.

Too good to be true. No supplement in the world will solve all your health concerns, get balding hair to grow back or make you loose 30 lbs. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Mega dose mania. Be careful with huge doses of vitamins. From time to time, news surfaces about the magical properties of a certain vitamin when taken in very large doses. Often the long-term effects of these mega-dose vitamins are not thoroughly researched. Sometimes these large doses can be even harmful.

Vitamins give you energy - WRONG! You only get energy from carbohydrates, protein and fats - not from vitamins. However, for long-term well being some nutritional supplements may be helpful.

Keep it natural and organic. Does it make sense to eat pesticide laced pills for better health? Whenever taking supplements, choose the highest quality, most natural vitamins produced from organically grown, pesticide free ingredients.
