Get Juiced Up!!!
By Andy Summa
If the Star Trek Enterprise crew had been vegetarians, popular Scotty likely would have been known for saying, “We need more juice!” rather than “We need more power!”.
Bad jokes aside, most health-conscious people know that juicing is a healthy way to add vitamins and minerals into your diet. Juicing separates a fruit’s juice from its fiber. The juice is extracted and collected for drinking. Many vitamins and minerals are concentrated in the
juice.
The Raw Food Scoop...
"Living and raw" foodists eat an organic, uncooked, unheated, and
unprocessed plant-based diet. The Living
and Raw Foods site has all you want to know about what living and
raw food is, a huge archive of recipes, bulletin boards, and more!
The basics of this diet are that "raw and living foods" are those that
contain enzymes, and enzymes aid in the digestion of food. The act of
heating food over 116 degrees F destroys enzymes in food.
(Enzymes start to degrade in as little as 106 degrees F). All cooked
food is devoid of enzymes.
Raw
foods enzymes are often dormant, such as the enzymes found in nuts. The
Raw and Living Foods site offers techniques to activate these dormant
enzymes, such as soaking and sprouting nuts, seeds and grains before
consuming them. Raw and living foods include fruits, vegetables,
sprouts, nuts, seeds, grains, sea vegetables, and other organic/natural
foods that have not been processed.

THANK YOU
Lois, for this
energizing and smooth recipe:
MOROCCAN
Energy Juice
1 Apple
1 Avocado
1 Banana
1 cup Milk
1/2 cup sugar
Peel the apple, avocado and banana and cut into chunks. Put all ingredients into the blender. Add more milk to get the smoothest consistency desired. It does not store well and needs to be consumed when
prepared.
