You
all made this our best year ever by far. Here are some
highlights from 2003:
Rainforest
Preservation.
There are a lot of ways to save rainforest with Red Jellyfish
and together we saved over two million square feet of
tropical rainforest!
Action
Alerts!
Your many thousands of responses helped shape the
discussions in board rooms and legislatures across the country
on many important issues. Just a few of
your victories include changing the corporate practices of Boise
Cascade, the sweeping changes at Citibank, and preventing drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife
Refuge. We will continue to bring you urgent
alerts in the coming year.
Kept 1,806 of Cell Phones Out of
Land Fills!
Thanks to your
efforts we recycled 1,806 cell phones in 2003. In addition to
keeping those phones out of the landfills recycling them also
resulted in the preservation of 903,000 square feet of
rainforest. Nice work!
Sounder the
Dog.
Sounder
was in trouble. He was in a rescue shelter after being taken
away from is previous owners, who had abused him. As a result of
the abuse he had an injured leg which required surgery. Jellyheads, along with other caring folks, helped raise the money necessary for Sounder's
surgery. We also just
found out last week that Sounder has now been adopted!
Feeding chimps in need.
Your daily actions helped to feed a lot of hungry
chimps, and to help fund the efforts of some of the best primate
non-profit groups in the world!
Congratulations!
We'd also like to congratulate winners of our Red Jellyfish Word
contest. We asked "How many other words
can be spelled using part or all of the letters in Red
Jellyfish" and we were flooded with responses! Here are the
top entries along with the number of words they came up with:
Valerie Ericsen
- 533 words
Layla - 533
words
Becky Streit -
532
Joanie Hunt -
525 words
Also, Isaac Wootton
wanted us to know that "I love Red Jellyfish" can also give "Oh if jelly Delivers"!
Feedback!
We'd also like to thank you all for the thousands of emails.
Your kind words and support mean a lot to the staff here. We
also love some of the fun things people turn us on to like the
amazing street art that is now a
full feature on the site!
Thank you all
again, we really appreciate all of your support!
Best wishes,
The Red
Jellyfish Team
